What is gene?
Gene is a segment of DNA or RNA that carries genetic information such as sequences of amino acid for the production of proteins. It is a hereditary unit of living organism. Our body contains about 25000 to 35000 genes.
Genes are located inside the chromosomes and contain a particular set of instruction, generally coding for the particular protein. Every individual contain two copies of genes comes from each parent. Alleles are forms with a small difference of same gene which contributes individual’s physical characteristics.
